Social Media
Connecticut State Parks, in partnership with DEEP, currently has one of the lowest social media followings among U.S. state park systems. While working in the main office, I collaborated with the Program Coordinator to develop new social media content and post concepts aimed at increasing engagement and visibility for the 2026 season. This work focused on modernizing posts, touching on history & park experiences, and creating content that resonates with a broader and younger audience.
The Bronco Wild Fund is a Ford Motor Company initiative dedicated to preserving public lands and promoting responsible outdoor recreation, funded by a portion of Bronco vehicle sales. In 2025, Bronco supported the renovation of Connecticut State Parks trails to improve accessibility as part of the state’s all-terrain wheelchair program, which offers trail-ready wheelchairs free to the public.
I was assigned to create the promotional materials associated with this funding, as it was part of the agreement between DEEP and Bronco. I coordinated with park directors to schedule times to capture video footage and photographs of trail construction and visitors using the program. I then edited, organized, and designed multiple post options while maintaining consistent messaging and formatting across all materials.

An important part of social media success is consistency. For the 2026 season, I designed multiple post templates to support recurring content. One of these was the “Guess the CT State Park!” series, a format post intended to spark nostalgia while encouraging comment engagement, teaching park history, and reminding the public of activities and events in the parks.
Another recurring series I created was “Hidden Gems.” For this project, I identified parks with fewer than 300 Google reviews (often less-visited locations) and designed posts that highlighted and reintroduced these smaller parks to the public.
